Tuckers- it’s not for Suckers!

Life isn’t a Burger King. You can’t always have it your way.

Mary Gaohlee Thao.

Yesterday, my Dad and I traveled to Tucker’s Café, to sample the: Jack Black Burger. Our friend Ari K. told us not to miss Tucker’s fantastic burgers in Fairfield, and he knows his meat! When we arrived, we noticed the beautiful outside.

i’m no sucker, I go to Tuckers

it was surrounded by bright red trees and had was painted vibrant white color. As we entered, we viewed the pub-like inside made with dark, shiny wood.

Tucker’s Café is located at 397 Commerce Drive, Fairfield, CT 06825 (203.336.5655). After we were seated, we studied the short menu and ordered appetizers. We decided on superb French onion soup with a smooth cheese covering.

French Onion Soup

Hidden beneath the cheese was a silky and delicious broth, caramelized onions, and soup-soaked croutons. The best part about the French onion soup is the crisp cheese that melted over the side of the bowl.

In addition we ordered juicy, spicy, buffalo wings. The wings were fair but I would not get them again. Unfortunately the wings were a bit under-cooked.

Little bit underdone

For our entrees we ordered THE Jack Black Burger (tender, juicy, meat encased in crunchy, black pepper corns, with a crispy onion, and erupting with melted cheddar cheese). The burger is first sautéed in Jack Daniels Whisky, then is rolled in pepper corns, and finally grilled to perfection. It was delicious!

This Burger was so good even Jack Black himself would have enjoyed it!

We also ordered a French dipped sandwich (a hard roll, piled high with soft, succulent roast beef, and a Au Jus to dip it in (it was so good, I could have drank it instead of water)

The Au Jus would make a great beverage

. The food was fabulous overall and the French onion soup was some of the best I have ever had. The atmosphere was very cozy and reminded me of an old Irish Pub. The value was extremely fair and the service was very accommodating. I would recommend it to anyone in need of a fantastic sandwich. I would rate it ZZZZ= 4 Z’s= Awesome.
