I Scream You Scream we all scream for Ice Cream!

“When I’m not longer rapping, I want to open up an ice cream parlor and call myself Scoop Dogg.” Snoop Dogg. Another portion of my food tour involved ICE CREAM! We ate ice cream from two places from around CT. The first one was called The Big Dipper (located in Prospect, CT). Big Dipper opened about 26 years ago and was owned by a Husband and Wife combo. Today it is owned by a mother and son and has had award-winning Ice Cream for the last 17 years. When we entered The Big Dipper Ice Cream Parlor we noticed the strange atmosphere containing green walls and an odd old look. I ordered smooth Pumpkin Chocolate Chip with chocolate chips erupting from within like a edible volcano, and a sharp and palate cleansing Mint Chip ice cream with thick sweet chunks of chocolate. All of this ice cream was topped with sticky marshmallow sauce that bound everything together like a silky glue. They use all fresh ingredients such as cherries, syrup straight out of the tap, and pumpkin picked right from the farm. Big Dipper Ice Cream Parlor is very good to its community and raises countless dollars a year for good causes or people in need. Overall it was some of the best ice cream that I have ever had. The second place we got ice cream from was called Ashley’s. We did not go to Ashley’s but we had it brought to us at Zuppardi’s Apizza (a story for another time). I had strong, firm coffee oreo ice cream, extremely sweet honey vanilla, and amazing black cherry ice cream that when it melted it poured down your throat like a delicious waterfall. Overall I enjoyed both places, but I did like the pumpkin chocolate chip because it tasted like a fall day. The ice cream was delicious on this trip and I would recommend both!

Good Night and Good ZEATS,
