“Between the optimist and the pessimist, the difference is droll. The optimist sees the doughnut; the pessimist the hole!” Oscar Wilde. The mornings of our trip were made up of mostly chomping away at world class donuts and trying to make conversation with huge chunks of donuts in our gullets. The first day we were brought donuts from Neils in Wallingford, and Coffee An’ in Westport. We had a crisp, buttery blueberry glazed donut from Neils, and a soft chocolate glazed donut with frosting that melted away in your mouth when you laid your teeth into it from Coffee An’. Inside it was spongey and to-die-for. The second day we were brought donuts from Dottie’s Diner in Woodbury. My dad and I had a chocolate frosted donut that had a hard, greasy outer layer and a soft inside that was like a soft cloud or pillow. After we ate all of our donuts we had a vote, and Neils and Dottie’s tied. Overall I would recommend each and every restaurant that served us donuts. The extremely kind people made the trip more fun and it was great to converse about what they thought, even if we had donuts in our mouthes and couldn’t speak ;)!
Good Night and Good ZEATS,
Thats WHOLE lot of Donuts!
